Create a Cluster

Provision an NKE cluster with the right networking and node pool sizing.

Steps ▶️

  1. Project & region: select placement

  2. Version: choose a supported Kubernetes release

  3. Networking: pick VPC/subnet; enable public LB if required

  4. Node pool: size (vCPU/RAM), count (min/max if autoscale), OS image

  5. Storage: enable CSI; default StorageClass → NVMe tier

  6. Create and download kubeconfig

Sizing tips 📏

  • Start 3 nodes for HA control-plane integrations and disruptions

  • Separate pools for system vs workloads

  • Use larger nodes for CPU-bound apps; memory-optimized for caches
